She was clearly hungover the morning after sitting in the dining hall eating a little breakfast, everything tasted the same to her, she was pretty sure the tequila burned away her taste buds but at the same time she was unsure if it was that or when she bit her tongue facing 1367 out of fear. Regardless, when she finished her food she headed back to her room and dressed in some casual light weight clothing, black jeans, white tank top, black hiking boots. She figured it was going to be a nice little field trip today, she might as well stretch her legs a bit.
Harmony had left Adam a note telling him where she would be when he was ready to head out, coincidentally he would know exactly where it was since he showed her the place. She looked over the outskirts of Raccoon, the surrounding area was gorgeous, to think that less than a decade it was a nightmare zone of radiation and undead ghoulies. Then again she knew there were plenty of gorgeous places out there that were still infested with the dead, it was just part of the world they lived in now.
It was supposed to get a little warm today but stay mostly cool, she wasn't regretting her choice in forgetting a jacket but at that moment the wind began to blow and the morning air was still chilled making her shiver a bit from the initial contact. She was extremely excited to see the secrets Alice had for them.
He slowly opened his eyes and as soon as the lights came on he regretted it. He groaned pulling himself to a sitting position on the edge of his bed. He hadn't slept that well in... ever. He held his hands over his head taking a minute to focus and force his body to get rid of the hang over he was feeling. He hoped to god that Alice's place had a good stash of actual booze and not just that rubbing alcohol he had. That's when he took a moment, he'd promised to give her a trip there but he was a bit uncertain. Things had happened a few nights ago, an agreement made to just forget about the past and move on. This trip was sure to dredge things up...
He got up and went to the bathroom, the truth was it was easier for her, who he had made the agreement with and said goodbye to. It was easier for her, chunks and pieces of her life from that time were missing, she didn't have those strong connections to that past anymore. But him? He did, and it still clung to the back of his mind like a nagging and annoying itch that never went away. He stepped out and began changing into something different, a black shirt with a few white skulls on them and a dark hoodie with distressed jeans.
He read the note over and then went about grabbing a few of his weapons and holsters, strapping a pistol holster to his thigh and slipping in his 1911 into it and then adjusting his shoulder holster with the revolver before throwing his hoodie over himself. He also grabbed his old, old book bag which had seen him through his days in the wastes and deadlands, through his service with KING, through most of his adult life.
The thing was old and had patch jobs and stitches running through the whole thing. He loaded up ammo and a few more guns as well as his old machete before slipping on and lacing up his boots and heading to the cafeteria, grabbing snacks and meals for the hike and stashing them in his bag. He also ordered two coffees before heading up to meet her.
The elevator dings and we walked out and up next to her holding out the coffee, "I didn't know if you like the stuff or not but I figured might as well be nice." He took a sip of his and looked out over the Arklay forest taking in all the sights and sounds, the morning mountain air fresh on his skin felt good. "Shall we?"

"Coffee sounds nice right now," she said taking the cup from him when she looked back to him and stood up from leaning on the railing, she was ready for the trip that was for sure, "I have no idea where we're going so I hope you don't get us lost. God knows we'd be easy targets if we did get lost."
Her eyes were still adjusting to the sun given how hungover she felt, next regret, not bringing sunglasses, "how far are we going? Should we get a ride or do you think it'll be a short enough walk?"
He pointed over near a mountain that was a few minute's hike from where they were. "Twenty kliks from that mountain peak, if where the original Raccoon City was." He said speaking directly from memory, it was that mountain top he had met Alice for the first time in years back in 26 upon visiting, the new city was still under construction at the time where it currently sits. "Alice's place was around ground zero." He took another sip of his coffee. "A couple things to go through but it's easy enough if you know what to look for." He had plans to come to Alice's old house after he had completed his mission and before he got all the way to the outside entrance before he just stopped.
He didn't know why or what stopped him he just didn't feel right going the final steps. Today that would change. He patted her lightly on the shoulder, letting her know to come along as he went back to the elevator and waited for her to join him before pressing a button which took them to ground level.

"That's a long walk," she said sipping off her coffee and turned when he bumped her and followed to the elevator, "starting to regret a lot of my choices today, like jeans over shorts, and not wearing a jacket."
She let out a small laugh, "I'm kidding of course, let's get this show on the road the anticipation is killing me. You think she's got any crazy defense systems? Like a laser grid or some crazy shit? Like... never mind on the laser grid now that I recall from her file she's been apparently attacked by a laser grid a lot, might have had PTSD to those things."
Was she making jokes? The thought even confused her as she said it.
"It's a good idea that I brought mine then." He replied in regard to her not bringing a hoodie, he set his bag and coffee down and took his hoodie off handing it to her before grabbing his bag and coffee. "Yeah that's going to be a no on the lasers" He laughed a little, "We once raided a lab that had a laser grid and she nuked the thing with her mind." He explained in a light tone.
The elevator touched down and opened with a ding and he walked out, "I'm not sure about defenses but that's why I packed the guns and ammo." The truth really was that old habits died hard, His death, mostly because he didn't have his weapons on him, sparked the old need to have a weapon on him at all times. "Though to be honest, Alice probably has some sort of major network security though. So I'm hoping my tech skills are up to par." He paused, taking a sip as he walked, "I mean they're not though."

"It was a joke," she said holding his hoodie, "so no laser grid, that's good, I always hated those things. I recall one in a Hive in New York, lost ten guys to the thing because the rampant AI decided she was going to dice them up instead of giving them a fair chance to fight back. Oh well, shits in the past now."
She followed him, "I have no experience in hacking so I hope you have a plan B if you fail to break into her systems. Like, I can break shit and do that pretty well but otherwise if its not easy to access then I'm not breaking firewalls."
He waved her off, "Hoodies are more like fashion statements for me. I can manipulate my pyro to a point where I constantly keep my body temperature at a point where I'm never too hot or cold." He wasn't lying either, it was a trick he developed a while back when he was with Irvine and his group in the deadlands. "I've heard horror stories. Should've seen what Alice did to that AI's core when we got to it." He said as they walked, he finished off his coffee and after a few seconds the paper cup flashed to ashes which he brushed out of his hands. No reason to litter.
"Well I mean it shouldn't be too hard? She died in '26, which means the tech at her place is probably outdated by a good three years now?" He shrugged, one of those things that they'd find out when they got there. For now he just enjoyed the walk and the company.

"We tried breaking into a vault Alice coded in 2005 like six years ago and that thing was so heavily coded that my best hacker didn't know what the hell he was looking at," Harmony said and finished off her coffee, she tossed her cup up into the air hoping he would blast hers into dust as well.
"She was far ahead of the times, the same can be said for Himura, she's got computers out there she left behind that are so heavily encrypted that I don't even think she remembers how to get into them. Those two are ridiculous at what they did," she gave in, tired of holding the hoodie she simply just slipped it on, and it fit loose as she figured it would, at least now if someone started shooting at them they might not shoot her thinking she was a homeless person.
"If that happens I think I might have someone to contact? If I didn't burn that bridge that is." He replied noticing her tossing up the cup, it flashed to ashes which were carried away by a breeze. While it was nifty to play and experiment with some of his new abilities, the level at which his pyrokenesis was out now, coupled with his familiarity with it to the extent that it was allowed him to do some many things he originally thought were near impossible without taxing him beyond measure.
"Yeah tell me about it, There's only two hackers that are better than them, and even then one of them is leagues beyond the other." They just started moving up hill, or at least to him he felt like they finally started as he took in his surroundings. When he looked around he noted how they were already half way up the hill they needed to be to get onto the mountain path.

"I'm going to take a guess and say you know who is out of our reach here," she said knowing who he was talking about, "Nam might be able to help, she was recognized in the Chambers report as being one of Grace's rivals in that field... I think he also mentioned that it was a rivalry on only Nams end as Grace saw her as... and I'm quoting this from memory, 'insignificant in her approach to large problems and at best a good scripter but a terrible code breaker.' Oh... I see the issue there now."
She kinda laughed off her own comments, "There's that one hacker from the zombie dudes, I can't remember her name, she helped me out a few times over the last four or so years with a few things I needed decrypted."
"Yeah no, 312 is not available." That felt weird coming out of his mouth, not the part that she wasn't available, but the fact that he referred to her by her Tyrant designation instead of her name. He chuckled though as she spoke to cover up what he just said and how he said it. "If worse comes to worse, and we're still chill, I'll probably call up Joulie." He responded finally giving away his 'secret' person. "She's not exactly 312's level..." There it was again, could he not say her name? Then again the fact was the person walking around now really wasn't Amy to him, so in a way it fit. "But she can sling code and crack shit with the best of them for someone with a non-altered's skill capacity at this stuff."

"Jolie," she yelled, "that's what her name was! Holy hell, I couldn't put a name to that face for some reason. Good god."
Harmony laughed, mostly at herself and how foggy her brain was right now, it wasn't doing her wonders being hungover right now, "otherwise, I got another person, might not be right for the job but they're damn good at cracking encryptions. They spent a lot of their life working on breaking down old lines of communications that Wonderland and White Rabbit used. They're formerly affiliated with Umbrella so you'd have to forgive them on that front but otherwise good guy."
"I wonder how nice this place is, like I can't imagine Alice sitting inside of a condo that's decked out like a million dollar mansion styled room, evil persons rotating chair and all but for some reason that idea definitely sticks."
He laughed at her comments but he just shrugged as they got onto the mountain path and the trail got steeper. "No idea really, I only ever got to outside entrance and never really went in." He explained as they walked. A few minutes later and they were at the top of the mountain, it wasn't a very high one but it looked over the old creators that had, after so many years finally started showing signs of growth again, it looked like old pictures of those areas where that first world war was fought. He pointed out a small hill just over the way, a forest between them followed by a large hill. To the left of that hill was the field which was originally ground zero for where bombs dropped.
"Just past that hill is where we're headed." He hadn't been on the mountain top since the night he spoke with Alice back in '26. It brought up memories of the two of them sitting there talking lightly about the past. It somewhat cascaded into all the fights they had while they were making their final push against Umbrella and Hija in New York. A small wave of guilt washed over him for the briefest of moments, had he known she wouldn't be alive to see today he wouldn't of been so quick to fight with her.

Harmony twisted around looking at the surroundings while she had a chance when they made it to the top of the mountain. It was crazy seeing the geography around her, the damage was there but it was repairing itself over time. She could still make out buildings and all sorts of crazy things but it was definitely destroyed now. She wondered what really was alive down there still under the city where the bombs couldn't get to.
"Perfect, these boots are comfortable but they're not broken in yet, starting to feel them rub my ankles a bit raw," she said, as if that was going to be a problem for her to just heal over soon enough.
