The Genius was in her office located on the left wing of the Isafaro's military base which made up the main labs when she was joined by Ricardo Cruz, a soldier they recruited out of Spain during the siege of Portugal and has proven himself time and time again as a remarkable soldier working his way up to lieutenant in Isafaro's ranks. With him was Mrs. Blue, AKA Maricul, and four other soldiers that had remained hidden during the skirmish back in New York. Olivia looked up from her work, took one look at them and noticed the absence of one body as she leaned back in her chair.

“Collar me disappointed, Lieutenant,” began The Genius, “you were supposed to come back with Doctor Birkin.”

“There were complications,” replied Rikky.

“Do tell.”

“We encountered an unidentified B.O.W. on our way to New York that took out most of my team. By the time we got to the rondevu point we were small in number. We had to improvise.”

“Improvise? By nearly getting Doctor Birkin killed?”

“Better a dead scientist than one that can be used against us.”

Rikky motioned for the soldier next to him to step forward, he did so and handed over his digital camera for The Genius to examine. She browsed through the photos to find closeup shots of Carlos shaking hands with Mary, Annette Birkin and  the white convoy with the Umbrella logo and accompanying soldiers around Birkin.

“You're quite the photographer, Private.”

“T-thank you!” replied the Private.

“How are pictures supposed to help us?” asked Maricul.

“A picture is worth a thousand words, Ms. Blue,” answered The Genius. “Especially when they're of a dead woman.”

“I was able to field test the Venom as well,” stated Rikky.

“And?”

“It managed to get me out of an otherwise impossible situation when the enemy's sniper fired pink smoke at me.”

“I wouldn't have thought they would risk summoning a hoard when they had such a high profile VIP under their protection. That sniper must really hate you.”

“He didn't hate me hard enough.”

“You're dismissed, Lieutenant. I'll call you as soon as I have more work for you.”

“General.”

Rikky bowed his head and turned around leaving with the rest of his squad. Before Maricul could leave with them Genius spoke up again, “Ms. Blue.”

Maricul came to a stop and turned around to face Genius.

“Inform my team on the way out that we are going ahead with Project Bane without Doctor Birkin. I want updates by the hour.”

“Are you sure that's wise?”

“Frankly no, but we don't have time to debate.”

“All right.”

Maricul departed leaving Olivia alone in her office as she finished downloading the photos and unplugged the digital camera from the laptop looking over the pictures one last time and stopping on Mrs. Birkin.

“Doctor Annette Birkin... I see rumors of your death have been greatly exaggerated.”

After Uncovering the secret

Carari had originally planned to head straight back to Coimbra, but seeing that Drake was missing an arm and now had one less hand to grope women with, she decided to make a pit stop into Porto knowing that The Genius would be able to turn this big negative into a positive given some time to think. She was going to want to hear what they encountered back in Time Square anyway.

The helicopter touched down outside the military base and the group made their way out, making sure the pilot came with them and didn't try anything funny. They were greeted by several of the guards outside as Genius was alerted to the arrival no thanks to the loud propeller of the chopper and came out to the entrance. With the Umbrella logo so blatant on the side of the helicopter they were lucky to reveal themselves before being shot down.

“Genius!” greeted Carari with her arms outstretched wide, of course The Genius didn't accept the hug and chose to remain standing in front of the group. “You hungry?” Carari tapped the dry blood on her face. “Ran into quite the swarm back in Time Square. I wasn't the only one as you can clearly see.”

“What the hell happened?” asked Genius.

“313 happened,” answered Carari.

Genius looked surprise to hear those word, as well as anyone else in the world would and it was immediately followed up with fear.

“313 was destroyed by Alucard,” stated Genius.

“No one told him that,” replied Carari.

“Drake,” Ayanna spoke up. “Fix him.”

“I can't grow back limbs, Ms. Kaktas.”

“You're a scientist. Fix it!”

“It's not nearly as bad as she's making it out to be,” said Drake.

“Not nearly as bad?” questioned Sniper A. “You got your bloody arm blown off!”

“Just a scratch.”

“Take him to the lab, let my people have a look at him.”

Ayanna nodded and escorted Drake inside the base and headed for the left wing.

“What do we do about him?” asked Sniper B, nodding his head over to the Umbrella pilot.

Genius looked the man over and could hear his heart was already beating faster than normal as he feared being assassinated right at the front step of Isafaro's military facility. She inspected him further, a pilot of Umbrella was least likely to have much valuable information on him. Never the less, Isafaro could always do with more pilots.

“You work for us now. Seeing that if you try to run you have an entire platoon ready to gun you down like the dog you are. You will deploy our troops and not leave the area until the job is done. If at any time you choose to betray us I will personally see to it that your throat is torn open and bled dry. Understood?”

“Y-yes ma'am!” replied the now ex-Umbrella pilot.

“Good.” Genius looked to the other Isafaro soldiers. “Search the helicopter. I want it thoroughly inspected and if there's nothing wrong with it, paint over the Umbrella logo, add our insignia and add it to the others.”

“Yes ma'am!” replied the Isafaro soldiers as they immediately carried out the order that was given forcing the pilot to assist in the inspection while Genius and Carari headed inside the base.

“Are you absolutely certain that it was 313 you saw?”

“I think I know the most famous tyrant to ever walk the earth when I see it.”

“How is that even possible?”

“Beats me, but it wasn't the only tyrant in the area. There was another one too, nasty looking thing. According to Ayanna it was like fighting stone, none of their weapons minus the Stinger found in the Umbrella chopper was any use against it, and even then it bounced back from the Stinger and decided to have a wrestling match with 313.”

“And General Vulture wants to go to war with Hellsing? Umbrella's the real threat and if they're resurrecting B.O.W.s... Well, I don't think I need to say anything further.”

“Hey, you're preaching to the choir. I don't care what Hellsing does they haven't bothered us any. I'm just glad there's an ocean between us and America's East coast.”

“If Umbrella is left unchecked every safe zone in the world is at risk. Right now the resistance groups in Staten Island are the closest thing to 313. I think they'd like to know what's running around in their backyard, wouldn't you?”

“Leave it to the freaks to battle the freak, eh?”

“In case you haven't cared to notice, we're all freaks here. Some of us are just more open about it than others.”

“I hear ya. Need me to play diplomat, then?”

“No. I'll take care of it.”

“Okay... I'm going to use your shower.”

“Help yourself.”

Carari headed for the showers while Genius came to a stop in the labs and looked over to see Ayanna in the infirmary with Drake as Rikky now stood next to Genius.

“You heard?”

“Your voice travels quite a ways, General,” replied Rikky. “The whole facility is trembling in fear at the mere mention of the beast's name.”

“They're smarter than they look, then.”

“I only wish I could have been there to see the tyrant for myself.”

“Trust me, you don't.”

“Have you seen it, General?”

“No, but like everyone else I know the story. 313 killed more people than any of the other bio-weapons put together; resistance, S.T.A.R.S., military, Hellsing, Umbrella. It took nothing less than Maricul's sire to put down the beast once and for all, or so we thought. Besides, I was nowhere near America at the time. I was here in Portugal leading the fight against Umbrella in this area.”

“It seems many ghosts from Umbrella's past has returned to haunt us.”

“If 313 is back then it's only a matter of time before Alucard returns as well and then they'll be no stopping Vulture from declaring all out war against the Hellsing organization.”

“What is the story between Comrade Vulture and Hellsing? Why does he hate them so?”

“Are you familiar with Millennium?”

“Only tall tales.”

“Vulture worked with them before forming Isafaro. He was there when Millennium fell to Hellsing and the Major was killed. Since then he has made it his personal goal to slaughter every single person that marches under the Hellsing banner. Grey and I have been able to keep his blood lust to a minimum, but with war on the horizon there's only so much we can do.”

“What's our next move?”

“Inform Ms. Kaktas that I will require her to accompany me to Staten Island.”

“Staten Island?”

“The resistance groups there will make a valuable ally against Umbrella and informing them of two high level threats would be a good way to start building that bridge of trust between our groups.”

“As you wish, General.”

Rikky headed over to Ayanna and Genius made her way to her office to pack what she'd need for the trip. Vulture wouldn't approve of her seeing Alice having been avoiding any entanglements that came with alliances, but she didn't care. Her reasoning was sound and she was already thinking of what to say when she'd have to deal with the General's anger later.
