"There isn't going to be any rescue, we have to get out of here!"

The lights snapped back on, the girl in the Arena was gone, the man who caused the event was gone. Cassidy was standing at the edge of the arena yelling down to Adam but her yells were easily drowned out by the constant screaming of terror around her. Finally she gathered the voice.
"ADAM! LET'S GO!"
It wasn't that something was attacking them, it was just that the crowd was panicking and leaving. She wanted to clear out before the attention was drawn to them by the people who would remain. She didn't expect the upper people to stick around but there would definitely be a clean up crew for the bodies.
She didn't get pictures of the man who caused it but she did have pictures of some of the gore, that was a plus but it wouldn't be enough even still to pin anything on anyone but the man who she recognized at the end as the same man who attacked the checkpoint.
His opponent was missing and everything seemed like disorganized chaos, he didn't wait once he heard Cassidy speak up. That was a shame that the girl was missing, they could definitely use someone like her for what was coming. He took a moment before jumping into the air and over the barrier where his stuff was. He grabbed his hoodie to replace his burnt off tank top slinging it on and zipping it up. "That was fun." He observed the damage below for a minute before shifting his gaze and observing everything going on around them, the smell of iron and gore hung heavy in the air. He lead the way to the car through most of the crowds, clearing a path for Cassidy.
A few things were running through his head when they eventually got out of the warehouse and were headed for the car. "Did you get what you needed?" He was also assessing the damage in his body from that fight, true he had healed but instant healing was more like a patch job which kept people like him fighting on the field, when he had a chance to rest that's when he'd actually start fully healing from his wounds.

"Damn straight I got it," she said as they ran, there were several guards ahead and suddenly one was gored and slung aside and the 376 dashed in breaking the leg of the other before grabbing his head and delivered a kick to his chest ripping his head from his shoulders with no effort at all. She slammed it into the ground, this chaos was almost like what she was waiting for.
She noticed them and began walking straight toward them and Cassidy quickly went for her gun and the woman held up her hands immediately.
"Don't," she said, her voice soft, definitely not what Cass thought, "get me the fuck out of here."
"Good then let's get the fuck out of here before more people get chunked." Adam was about to get ready to dismantle the guards up ahead before they were fucking destroyed by 376. As Cass raised her gun he reacted almost immediately as 376 raised her arms and put his hand on Cassidy's gun lightly pushing it down. "Yeah, c'mon." Adam said waving her over and watching the area, "Tony's just gonna have to deal with it, and next time I'm bringing a damn gun." He said looking around and keeping an eye out as they moved.

Cassidy didn't holster her weapon, she was ready now just in case someone wanted to start shooting at them as they got the hell out of there. 376 kept up with her and Adam on the way back to the car, she finally pulled open the door and slid in and Eres opened the door behind Cassidy and jumped in sliding over into the seat behind Tony so that Adam could get in behind Cass.
"I got plenty to start a good case," Cassidy said, she was breathing a bit hard but she was mostly excited, "might want to make a call to the police about the warehouse now before they have time to clean up what happened in there."
"Yo what the hell happened?" He said as they were piling into the car before Cassidy started talking, He looked into the back seat at Eres, "And who is this?" Adam climbed in and shut the door, "Shut up and get us the hell out here then we'll explain." Tony shook his head and started the car pressing a button on his phone which was set up in a holder on his dash. "Hey I need units at 446 mission street red warehouse from earlier. Get people there stat." The phone hung up and Tony pulled on to the main street.
"I thought I asked you not to cause a scene?" Tony finally said, Adam responded rather rudely about how he didn't do a damn thing except fight the person now sitting next to him. "Then what the hell happened in there?" "Tyrant's fucking quote unquote sword. Definitely some sort of 400 series bastard decided to chunk a few people who were watching."

Cassidy cracked her window, there was a definite funk in the car, "I'm starting to question if Tyrant is even trying to not cause damage at this point. They don't seem like they're holding anything back. Regardless, I got pictures of them, I got pictures of documents, I got a lot on my phone right now that we can sort through."
What a first day, this could be the excitement she was looking for yet it was all leaving her on edge. She was ready for a good meal and cold beverage at this rate, the entire night was crazy.
"I don't know what she's thinking anymore..." Adam muttered under his breath as he was looking out the window and slouching in his seat. His activity had already caught with him, only at 15% and his body was already feeling such a huge shake from it. It worried him but also excited him. He needed to adjust quickly so he could get this fucking limiter off of him.
Tony nodded but also rolled down the windows of the car as they drove those two in the back did not smell pleasant. "So we've got what we need to start building a case against him yeah?" He finally spoke up as they were driving, patrol cars with their lights blaring sped past them on the other side of the road. "So who's our tag along if I can ask?"

"Uh...."
"Eres, 376, human debris, pit fighter, forced to compete in death matches for food and survival," she finally said, the most words she had said this entire time, her accent was definitely English but it was a bit off, "in need of a hot meal and proper bath."
"I'll second the bath," Cassidy said rolling her window down a bit more, "you willing to testify against them?"
"No."
"Uh... Why not?"
"No offense, 'preciate you getting me out of there but I'm not 'bout to snitch just because. Figure me a deal in and safety and maybe I will. 'Til then, fuck off with that notion, yeah," Eres said.
"But you don't understand we can put this guy away and he'll never see the light of day if we get something from you that can connect him to all the evidence we have." Tony said Adam reached forwards between the seats and grabbed his gun that was in his holster and unzipped his hoodie strapping the rig back onto him before zipping his hoodie back on. Tony was talking on and on trying to convince her before finally Adam spoke up, "Drop it Kennedy, even if she did it's not exactly like you two can protect her. Altereds don't get witness protection, they don't get priority safety treatment neither."
Tony was about to argue before Adam interrupted him. "Not only that when word drops of someone of her capabilities not of medication and shit you're going to have ZRS and military storming where ever you put her." Tony fell silent, there was a small point to be made. Adam was texting in his phone before he got a ding back. "Drop me off near the river walk." He said, a few minutes later they came to a stop at the parking lot near the river walk and Adam got out of the car hanging his head into it. "Eres right? Look, you ain't got no reason to trust me, but I got a place you can stow away at. Hot food, showers, and a room. There's a whole lot of us there, 300 series folks I mean. Take it or leave it honestly." He got walked away from the car and sat on a near by bench that was close to the river's edge.

She didn't retort, she didn't need to, Adam was right. When the car came to a stop and Adam got out she lingered for a moment before finally saying, "Lissen, I'm not saying much but there's a lot more people like me that they're usin'. The warehouse is jus' the arena, try lookin' round the ol' bend closer to home. Jus' sayin'. Thanks for the ride."
Eres got out and walked around the back of the car joining Adam on the bench.
Cassidy sat there a moment thinking, she said out loud, "round the bend closer to home... There's a bend in the Circular river before it forks above North Raccoon, maybe that's what she's talking about?"
Tony waited till they both got out then nodded, "Yeah I think you might be right. But it's already late. We'll have to check it out tomorrow." He finally replied as he started the car he was about to pull out when he head what sounded like a motorized inflatable boat engine he looked over near the river and noticed Adam getting into the thing, it showed how little he knew of the guy. Wasn't he like forty all scared up with a fucked up eye? Now he was healthy unmarred and fighting and moving like he was in his late twenties.
It was just weird... Though these were thoughts he'd need to push off for another day. The look of the woman was enough to let him know some of the more darker shit that was going on, the scars she had the unkempt manner it was ridiculous that others were doing this to their own. Almost made him need a drink. "So I can drop you off at home or I don't exactly know about you but I could use a drink." He finally spoke up as he drove away from the area.

"I gotta set the apartment up, I mean, I'm down for something to eat though," she said, she wasn't opposed to a drink after hours but at the moment on the first day it wasn't her style, she needed time to settle in to the new digs before making claim to he bad habits, "you can drop me off by the station, I literally live in the apartments around the block from there, unless you want to get something to eat with me. I'm not against good eats right now."
Heaven knows she worked up an appetite and to boot she only ate a bag of chips out a vending machine earlier so solid food would help her sleep easier and work on what happened during the first days events.
"Now that you mention it I am a bit hungry. How do you feel about 103's?" He asked taking a right turn at a light and driving down the road. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number to the station, "Yeah this is Kennedy I'm going off duty for the night." He waited for a few minutes before the person on the other end confirmed, "Okay thanks, have a good night." He finally said hanging up his phone and setting it back in the cup holder. He was surprised that they didn't make a joke about him calling it early but cases like this caused him to have to call it earlier than he usually would when it came to his shift.
They turned off onto another street and ended up in the parking lot of a very familiar place to him called the Crowbar, though it was under new management and was now a Bar and Grill instead of just a bar. "This place used to be the guy you just met's now it's run by a 103 and one of Adam's old employees and their running it as a bar and grill which serves full of food. And the foods really damn good too." He put the car in park and turned the engine off, it was also a really good place to just get information about whats been going on in the city too.

"Depends on what side they're on," she said to him sliding down in her car seat and crossed her hands over her stomach while peering through the side window, her brain is racing on the case now. They were using Altereds to fight in the arena but god knows what else they used them for. They came to a stop and he explained the situation.
"I'm down for anything, this isn't the weirdest thing I've ran into," she said getting out the car, "you should see what some people use Hunters for in the Dead Zone."
