After leaving the airport Tori and co. rented a car and made their way to an old house being sold out of South Raccoon City. It was an old red house with a black roof on top of a hill with a walk in basement, which was rare to find in any good home anymore. She pulled up into the drive with Garrus and Kragen at her side and rang the doorbell. The door open and a small woman with blond hair answered and looked at the three.
"Can I help you?" the woman asked.
"I'm Tori Jay. The buyer who talked to you over the phone."
"Oh yes, of course. Please, come in."
Tori and co. entered the building into a living room. It had white walls, white ceiling, and yellow carpeting. It connected to a kitchen which was separated by a doorway, and another doorway leading to a hall that led to two bedrooms and one bathroom in the middle. The door in the kitchen led to the garage and a staircase that led down to the basement. It reminded her of home in Moon Valley.
"Are these your friends?" asked the owner.
"Old war buddies."
"You were in the military?"
"Once upon a time."
The four explored the house and saw there were only two rooms. One of them would have to find a living quarters in either the living room or the basement as this was the best they could find in her budget.
"Are you interested?"
"Very."
"I'll need this month and last month's rent of course."
Tori reached into her wallet and paid it all in cash. "Of course."
"It was a pleasure doing business with you."
The woman left the home and the three looked to each other.
"Dibs on the water bed."
"All the same, I'd rather not have something that leaks."
"I'll take the basement."
Kragen never needed much for himself, and now was no different. Looked like everything worked out. Tori and Garrus unpacked their luggage and made the place feel like home. They came back together in the living room and Tori sat on the sofa while Garrus and Kragen stood.
"Tell me, Kragen, where should we start in the city?"
"Industrial District if you want TYRANT. The Spencer Mansion if you want Helsing. As far as I know Devil and Blu Umbrella have been operating outside the city. Carari Incorporated is on Mission Street, and the vampire Maricul could be anywhere. I currently don't know how you can get in touch with White Rabbit. But be warned. Military owns this city now."
"Tell me more about TYRANT."
"Civil rights group. Nobody knows the identity of their leader. They're the current scapegoat for everything that goes wrong in the city."
"What of Helsing?"
"Mostly quiet. An agent was spotted battling the vampire Maricul on Mission Street before the vampire summoned a hurricane in the sector."
"What do we know about Maricul?"
"That she can create powerful ghouls and has powerful magic. Not unlike another vampire the world knows as the Apex Predator."
"A powerful vampire must have made her if she can do that much damage."
"Only one person has encountered Maricul so far?"
"She's not high on people's list."
"Then it looks like I must once again handle the wet work no one else wants to do. I'll begin my search for the vampire after I'm done here."
"I'm coming with you. You'll need some backup with a vampire that powerful."
"No. I need you to get in touch with TYRANT. You're a BOW who fought the man for some time now. They'll likely warm up to you. I need Kragen to continue to gather intelligence from Carari Incorporated. I want to know what she's up to."
"Affirmative."
"Are you sure you can handle that unnatural by yourself?"
"I've faced worst. Now chop, chop. History rewards the bold."
Kragen and Garrus nodded. Stocking up on weapons and supplies before heading out. Tori poured herself a glass of water and took a drink as she relaxed in the kitchen of her new home. Maricul would be a tricky one, but nothing she couldn't handle. She looked forward to hearing what Kragen and Garrus learned on their respective assignments. Tori could already tell Raccoon City was going to be an interesting one.
