Tori tracked the vampire known as Maricul to an old abandoned warehouse in Warren Street where she first made her debut in the city. Kragen had dispatched most of the ghouls there and the area had recovered from the initial attack by the vampiress. She entered the warehouse with a Socom pistol in her hands and two rifles on her back. She checked the area and looked up to see a figure in the shadows that must have been the woman herself. A woman with short hair and dark eyes dressed in blue and black. The vampire Maricul.
"Who are you?"
"Tori Jay."
"Are you with Helsing?"
"No. I'm what you would call freelance."
"Then I have no interest in you."
The figure started to walk away as Tori moved forward with her gun in hand.
"I'm afraid I can't let you kill anymore innocent people. The rest of the city may not give a damn about you, but I do."
Maricul stopped in her tracks and looked back down to Tori from where she stood.
"Is that right?"
"I'll give you one chance to leave this city and never come back. Forget your plight for revenge and move on with your life. For your own sake."
"I'm afraid I can't do that. Especially now that he has returned."
Tori figured the he she mentioned was Alucard himself, which left a bad taste in her mouth. If he was back then something big was about to happen soon. As everywhere he went trouble and destruction followed.
"In that case I'm afraid I'm going to have to kick your ass."
"What makes you think you'll be anymore successful than those who came before you?"
"Because I'm the best in the world at what I do, and what I do isn't very nice."
Why yes she did quote Wolverine from X-Men, but that was so long ago that nobody would get the reference anyway. Maricul laughed and drew her pistol and open fire at Tori's position. Tori raised a wall from the floor as cover and stayed behind it before firing back with the Socom. Maricul leaped over the railing of her position and landed on the ground floor firing at the wall Tori raised. Tori sent the wall flying straight towards Maricul who rolled out of the way and drew another pistol, a white gun firing larger rounds at the soldier.
Tori generated a plant shield to block the bullets and open fire more shots with the Socom until she ran out of bullets. Switching it for the FA-MAS assault rifle and firing more rounds at the vampire. Maricul took the bullets in her body, fell over, regenerated, and got back up firing from the white pistol in her hand. Tori launched a sphere of earth from the ground and launched it at Maricul who jumped over the sphere and rolled on the floor firing from both guns now. Tori shot out a vine to disarm Maricul snatching both guns away onto the floor and then causing the floor to swallow them up so she had no more weapons.
"You're just another freak, aren't you?"
"Says the freak."
Maricul pressed her hands together and then summoned a large black cobra that erupted from her body and charged at Tori. Tori released her vines making them razor sharp and sliced through the snake cutting it in half watching the blood spill from its body. More snakes erupted from Maricul's body, as well as spiders, and Tori sliced through them all with her vines and fired at the rest with her FA-MAS.
"It seems I once again must call on my full power. Very well."
Maricul hair grew down to her shoulders and she was now dressed in black witch's robes made complete with a witch's hat. She jumped up to the railing above and sent a massive flood to wash away Tori. Tori lifted up on a platform of the floor and flew over the flood and fired more shots at Maricul who simply blocked them with her familiars, but Tori could tell she didn't have many of those left after the battle with the Helsing agent. Tori landed on the railing and began to CQC with the vampire who held her own well, but Tori eventually won out and flipped Maricul over the railing into her own flood. Maricul swam through the water and Tori fired down into the flood at the vampire causing large holes to pierce her body. Maricul had suspended much of her energy, so it was harder for her to regenerate the wounds. Tori jumped over the railing and began whipping Maricul with her vines and then slicing right through her flesh before sending a torrent of thorns to pierce her body some more causing further damage against her.
"You little bitch!"
Tori touched the ground and it exploded beneath Maricul's feet as shards of earth pierced her flesh. Maricul tried to counter with an offense, but she was too weak from the initial assault to do much of anything. Tori charged at her and attacked the pressure points in Maricul's body making her bleed. Tori continued to make her lose more blood as she beat her senseless with her bare hands and performed a move that would've stopped her heart if it was still beating. Maricul fell to the floor and Tori pierced her heart with a single vine that was made sharp enough to penetrate the bloody heart. Maricul gasped and began to bleed out as Tori could tell the vampire didn't have much time left. Tori stood over her as the vampire laid there looking up at her with defeat in her eyes.
"How could I lose... to the likes of you?"
"Because you dreamed of death, and it was granted to you."
"Perhaps he was right... perhaps I am worthless."
"Our self worth isn't determined by others. It's determined by our own evaluation. Do you think you're worthless?"
"No."
"Then you are not worthless."
Maricul smiled. It seemed that statement was enough to give her peace. Her body began to collapse and then reduced to ashes on the ground. Tori couldn't be mad. Maricul had faced her death well and found peace in her fate. Few very rarely accepted their fate with a smile. Tori took a bag and placed the ashes inside of them. Proof that she had finished the vampire off once and for all. Tori put the bag in her jacket pocket and left the warehouse. Her first task for the city was complete. Now it was time to move on to phase two.
