He flushed slightly when she mentioned having his scent. "Uhh...look, I don't smell this way all the time, I swear. Just been a really, really long road. I intend to get a bath first thing in the city. Found a hotel room for a night or something since I don't think this place rents baths." he said. Dirt baths were old fashioned, and probably soaked up a lot of the worse of it, if giving him a bit of a dusty, earthy aroma. He'd have to see about some of that fancy cologne these civilized city slickers liked. Might be decent for those long trips in the waste. He extinguished his Tin so as to not have to smell himself anymore not that he was acutely aware of it and unable to block it out. He blinked as his eyes readjusted to the weaker vision that he always felt like he had without his Tin burning, feeling like part of him was shut off and asleep. His body instinctively tensed a little, a reaction to the lack of superior senses that could warn him far in advance of any threats coming. To offset it, he began burning Pewter instead, giving him the feeling of pent up energy, like all his whole body was suddenly flush with pressure and energy. It staved off his fatigue as well and reduced his sores to minor aches he could easily ignore. The enhanced speed and strength came with it made him a match for most common BoWs, the inherent sense of balance kept him from stumbling and the added resistance kept wounds that would kill most humans from dropping him. With a fire burning in his stomach, he grinned. "Bath might do you good as well. Wonderful feeling, washing the dirt of countless roads off yourself and just relaxing. A nice long soak is a wonderful and powerful thing." he added, eagerly looking forward to it now.
As she mentioned a spot for all of them to stay, he felt his brows rise again. He certainly hadn't expected her to make camp with them, though he wasn't gonna turn her out on her own. Most people were a lot more wary than that after so long living from fight to fight, constantly running and hiding or battling for their lives. "Huh, worth a look at least. I can probably rig something up for Midnight to rest comfortably in a yard as well she he can have some fresh air instead of being cooped up. Long as he's near by, I ain't too worried about something sneaking up on us. Most minor things ain't gonna give him any trouble and anything bigger, he can alert me quick enough I can handle it quietly if I need to. A knife ain't my preferred weapon, but best not to draw too much attention to us." he said with a shrug. He eyed her for a moment, burning a quick pinch of Steel. Immediately, blue lines sprang up, connecting him to nearby sources of metal. In a place like this, a lot of it went to buildings, but more than a few were pointing to various places on her. Some of it were the odd bits of metal on her clothes, but a few were to weapons she had hidden away. He grinned again before speaking. "Between the two of us, I'm sure we can handle anything this place wants to throw at us. I reckon they ain't exactly worse than anything we've had to deal with before." he added confidently.
"Nah, I ain't headed into town just yet. Go ahead and lead on and we can give the place a look over and see what we can do to make it a bit more habitable and defendable, just in case any unwanted visitors come knockin." he said, gesturing for her to take the lead. He'd fall into step beside her, easily within view though just out of a comfortable reach to try and put her a little more at ease. He didn't intend to attack her, but having him within sight and out of an easy range to attack her with a knife would probably make her feel better. Given that she didn't seem to possess any firearms, he was willing to bet she was a far better knife fighter than he was and would have no problems closing the gap and gutting him faster than he could do to her. That was if he didn't cheat, which of course he would. He was a tough one to kill and could recover from most any wound, but that didn't mean he wanted to take any wounds if he didn't have to. He hummed softly to himself as they walked, eyes casually keeping track of the area around them. Noting routes and passages, making sure he familiarized himself with their fighting grounds if push came to shove. He wasn't worried about her, but anything else that might come looking for a fight.
