"There isn't going to be any rescue, we have to get out of here!"
"Because Chief puts S.T.A.R.S. on that type of stuff and so far, according to the reports filed by Valentine and Alpha team the rumors came up with nothing when they investigated." He said finally as he quieted down, after a moment he spoke up again. "Come to think about it, when we were getting attacked by that Devil group, there was another group that showed up and just started murdering the Devil guys. Some weird guy too. I'm really not sure what the hell came about that. I got told to take a vacation and that S.T.A.R.S. was going to be dealing with it."
He pulled up in the parking lot of the Hotel, it looked more like a motel really. He parked the car and turned it off. "Either way we've got this case to work on right now, the sooner we bust it maybe the chief will let you in on that other case." He got out of the car and waited for his partner before going up to the window where one would usually rent a room and flashed his badge, "Hi, detective Kennedy, this is my partner D'Agata. We're here for some follow up questions in regards to the murdered Altered a few weeks prior. Are you Linda?"

"Leave it to Chris to run straight into danger and punch it," she said half heartedly. They pulled into the hotel lot and followed after him. She figured let him do the talking since she was the new blood in town, without any civilian relationships she really didn't know much about anything here and dealing with the population was never really one of her concerns when it came to field work. This was technically the most relaxed job she had so far.
They really were in the middle of nowhere it felt, when he introduced the two of them she nodded to the lady and took her attention to the surrounding area. The forest was kind of eerie, she imagined anything out this way was nightmare fuel for the people who lived here but they probably were used to it which is why a murder out here wasn't too far fetched to her. Cass didn't really associate herself much with these kinds of places, she was really raised in large cities and her life hadn't been around much wilderness aside from travelling at one point or another.
After a few minutes of back and fourth the woman finally invited them into the office and got her husband with them. The office was kind of small with a small table a small couch and chairs, "So Mr. and Mrs, Lorez I'd like to know what was going on here." He had to wait for a bit, reassuring them that they were safe, that the murder that had happened probably caused whoever was running the operation of the hotel to pack up and leave and not think twice. He also reassured them that they could give their statements about events transpiring here and it would be anonymous should it be brought up in court. He really was one of those caring officers that you really didn't see all that much.
Eventually the wife broke down crying and the couple began explaining how at first a bald black man in a suit had bought out several rooms for the month, at first it seemed normal but a group of shady people were always hanging out around the end of the motel. People kept coming and going and they brought it up to their son who worked night shift and who confronted one of them before they physically beat the ever living hell out of him the next day in front of them. The husband went on to explain that they were altereds and were showing what they could do to them if they did anything or told anyone about what happened.
They went on to explain that when the girl was murdered there was a tall male with blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a white trench coat followed by a group of men in business suits. The man having a fight with the girl before she attacked him and tried to escape but he shot her and then killed her with his bare hands. After that a day later they were all gone as if it had never happened at all.

All of this was condemning evidence, the problem was giving them the cloak of anemenity also made it impossible for them to identify and condemn anyone unless the police began wrangling up possible suspects and putting them on the line up. The problem there however was that they had no evidence or possible way to do that without drawing a ton of attention to the case, if she knew anything about gangsters, when that much attention drops on them they just disappeared from one scene and appear elsewhere until the pressure is gone.
"Without a doubt are you sure about their descriptions," Cassidy asked, she was concerned because they were all rather generic, this was typical in these kinds of cases but it made things hard to follow up on, "no names, any way to describe their accents? Any markings like visible tattoos or scars? I know I'm asking a lot of questions but it would help us pin these guys down for good."
Tony thought for a minute before pulling up his phone and flipping through it he set it down and pressed a button on the screen as holographic images popped up from the old case files he'd managed to scan. Mostly of those who fit the description over all there was the Blonde Haired male, a red head with his bright red hair in a pony tail and opened white shirt he also seemed to wear eye make up. The bald black male who had a goatee and always wore sunglasses, a male of asian decent with long hair and three dots on tattooed on his forehead and several others. They were all positively ID'ed by the couple and Tony nodded his head. "I see, well thank you for your time. We really appreciate it."
He got up shaking each of their hands and scooping up his phone and turning off the display. He waited until they were shown out of the office before handing the husband his card, "If anything comes up or you see anyone around that looks like anyone who was around back then don't hesitate to call, that's my personal number."

She took a bit to process it all, she was standing by a vending machine putting in change and dispensed a soda before twisting the cap and followed after him, with them positively ID'd that gave their investigation a way to look even if they had no real evidence to condemn the people just yet.
"Here," she said to him and handed him a slip of paper, "that's all of my contact information, forward me everything you got later so I can start putting together a case story back at my place. This is going to need more manpower than just the two of us by the looks of it."
"Yeah sure thing." He replied taking the slip of paper and putting it in his pocket. He opened the door to his car and just sat there for a minute leaning against the roof of his car. "You'd think with the world coming to an end for fifteen years that shit like this would've been done with y'know? You always hear how the worlds back to being civilized but shit like this never gets reported on anymore." He knocked on the roof of his car before getting into it and started it up while waiting for Cassidy.

She slipped in and got a bit comfortable in the car seat, "now that things are progressively safer than they were then it's more likely they're returning to their old roots. Plus, it doesn't help that the government is enforcing all these rules. Things are just going back to how they used to be. Granted, now we're experiencing more of the terrible side of it since we have the time to be aware of it rather than fighting for our own survival."
"Slipknot said it best," she began, "people are shit."
"Sometimes they can be anyways." He pulled out of the parking lot and sat in silence for a bit until they got onto the freeway. "I think Burton might have given me more than he thought. The kind of shit they pulled, and how effective they've done it means that they've been active for months in this city under our noses and this is probably their first fuck up. I just really hope that this isn't their last, I'd really hate for this shit to go cold again." The truth was this was kind of effecting him personally, after all he was a child of an altered and at any point he could've ended up in the same situation that most of these people find themselves in when they're involved in these gangs and underworld dealings.

"What if we got someone into those fights," she said absentmindedly just thinking of ideas, "I don't know any altered in the city but one might be willing to work their way through the ranks to really pin something on those guys."
That was a dangerous proposition and she wasn't willing to let anyone do it without them being one hundred percent willing but at the same time she didn't really know enough about the city to know where and how to generate their next lead on the case.
"That's what I was thinking except I was thinking of just getting into them myself." He replied as they rode back towards the city. "At this point though we're going to need the Cheif's permission whether we go with me or another Altered." After a while he finally spoke up again, "Honestly I'd rather it be me instead of putting another Altered's live in danger. I heard if you lose in some of those fights you don't end up too well."

"You identified yourself to them as a police officer like an hour ago," she pointed out, "I don't think you'll be getting much farther than the front door. Our best bet is to get in contact with someone who would help us with this case and get an altered to join up. Maybe if we blow the top off them basically trafficking altereds someone from Tyrant will help with that."
Going off what he said though she also didn't want to risk endangering anyone, "I might have a DSO contact who is altered who could do so as well. Unless you have any ideas?"
"Trust me, you really don't want to get Tyrant or any of their members involved in this." He was speaking from experience, when it came to tyrant and specifically their leader it was never a good idea. He gripped the steering wheel a little uneasy about what he was going to say next before finally sighing. "I might have someone but you gotta keep your lips sealed about it." He took a minute before finally speaking up, "So I'm not a normie, in fact my mother's an Altered and technically she's the clone slash, sister of the Altered who was killed a few months ago." He turned off the interstate onto the raccoon city freeway. "Well my mom and him kept in touch for the longest. So technically he's my uncle."
He got off of the free way and pulled over to a nearby parking lot. He paused for a minute grabbing his phone and looking through his contacts, he'd learned a lot from his visit to Stone-ville, the truth was that was where his mom and dad lived and they'd get weekly visits from someone so imagine his surprise when that someone walked through the door one day right as rain and damn near ten years younger looking. "So I don't know someone who's technically dead which means we don't need permission because he doesn't exist." Was all he said before he pressed the call button on his mother's contact.
A cold and detached voice came over the other end, definitely female and rather young sounding for someone who should be in her forties. "It's not like you to randomly call out of the blue like this." He took a moment, "Yeah I know, look I've hit kind of a dead end in a case I'm working on, is... there any way you can get me in touch with Ol' man? I kind of need his help."
There was a moment of silence over the phone, Tony spoke up again, "This isn't a trap I promise. I just need him to help with someone you two might have dealt with on the west coast, Roman Faust." There was a few more seconds before finally she spoke up. "He'll contact you soon." Tony thanked her and said his good byes and the phone hung up. "I don't feel good about this."

She was kind of taken back, he just trusted her with a bomb shell just now and while she didn't actually care she wasn't sure if he was always like this or if he had full faith in her just because she was more off the record than the RPD given that she was DSO and had a bit more sway in terms of what she could and couldn't do. Eventually he made a call, she didn't really talk about anything while he did all of this just waited and evaluated.
She had planned to see if King wanted in on this, if there was anyone she could trust to win a pit fight of twenty it was him and he was pretty off the record about it all but bringing someone up who should be dead and wasn't might be a good way to go about it, granted, she was hoping you know who wasn't well known by face at this point.
"I don't feel good about any of this but there's plenty to be had if this goes the wrong way."
Tony was about to say something before he got a text from an odd number 145.82 He looked at it weird, was that, he remembered Amy talking about something along the lines of Codec or something like that or codes for a codec device. All the text said was; 'Clocktower pickup. 5 minutes.' He checked his watch only to find out that it was already 6pm where the time went he had no idea. He put the car in drive and started driving. "Looks like they're ready to be picked up already." He said as they drove back onto the overpass and made their way to the clock tower. They waited in the car for a minute before someone in civilian clothes and a hoodie walked up to the car over his face was what looked like a respirator mask and on his head under the hoodie was a black beany.
The mystery man opened the back door and slid in. He didn't say anything for a few minutes before putting his seat belt on. Eventually a very distorted, who is this was asked in the direction of the cassidy.
